Snopkov noted that

Western sanctions have led to difficulties in settlement, and currently the use of the dollar and euro in trade settlements in Belarus continues to decline. Belarus aims to abandon dollar and euro settlement in its trade with other countries in the Eurasian Economic Union within 2023. Currently the share of the dollar and the euro in the trade settlement of Belarus with these trading partners is about 8%.

The National Bank of Belarus has set up a special working group to coordinate the settlement of foreign economic activities and to help enterprises to settle foreign trade to the maximum extent possible, Snopkov said.

Belarus’ exports of goods and services trade hit a near-decade high in the first quarter of this year and maintained a surplus in foreign trade, Snopkov said.
